Daily Byte

What makes us angry? The frustration of not getting our own way? The resentment of not getting another to abide by our agenda or demands? The battle based on the standards of our emotions rather than the teachings of the Church? The reality of not being as loving or as merciful as we are commanded by God? Seeing others prosper more than we do? Failure to address the root cause of our anger will lead to the destruction of ourselves and others in our lives. The Scribes and Pharisees anger at Jesus who cured the withered man’s hand on the sabbath led to plots against Him (Lk. 6:6-11), and caused their own darkness.

Today, identify and get rid of the cause of your anger. Live in the peace of Christ. Speak Your peace to us Lord, and help us to abide in Your saving presence. May our lives of peace give glory to You, healing to others, and bring life and joy to all in our world. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
