Every unique encounter with Jesus should spur a joyful motivation of evangelizing others. We are called by the Lord to experience His love and power, so that our personal stories can be the foundation on which we become sources of good news through our testimony. As Disciples of the Lord, we are sent to share what we have seen and heard. This is why it is important to ‘wake up’ and pay attention to the Lord’s presence and voice in our moments of prayer, celebration of Mass and life experiences. The Christ story could easily have been lost if Jesus did not appear to the Disciples after His resurrection. The Disciples could easily have become discouraged when they learnt of Jesus’ impending death, had they not witnessed His transfiguration (Mt. 17:1-2). In both instances — resurrection and transfiguration — we are indebted to the Disciples who were eyewitnesses of the Lord’s majesty (2 Pt. 1:17). They boldly shared their stories. Now, it is our turn to share our Jesus encounters with everyone. Lord Jesus, You daily reveal Your love and mercy in our lives. May we recognise our role to evangelize our world by actively sharing our experiences of Your power in our lives. Amen.
