Ralph Emerson is credited with saying, “People do not seem to realise that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.” The views and judgements made of others is more a reflection of the speaker than the person being targeted. Therefore, it is important for each individual to grow in knowledge of self and God. If Jesus had allowed Himself to be swayed by the many statements made against Him by the Pharisees (Mt. 12:14), He would probably have abandoned His mission. But He stayed the course, and remained true to Himself as revealed in His relationship with HIs Father. Let our true character be revealed by our fidelity to God’s word. Lord Jesus, as You remained faithful to Your Father’s will, help us to build our character and faith by loving You as our Lord and living according to Your word. Amen.
