Daily Byte

Do we spend enough time thanking God for His patient mercy as we strive to grow in true love and holiness? We should begin each day with a prayer of gratitude for the many ways God blesses us, and even more, for His compassionate heart that is evidenced by the time given for us to align our lives with the will and ways of the Lord. But make no mistake. The gift of time for our ongoing transformation will eventually come to an end. Our lukewarm response or stubborn refusal to yield to the word of God will be to our detriment. We are warned, that if God’s deeds do not prompt our repentance, we have only ourselves to blame (Mt. 11:20-24). Repent, and inherit eternal life. Lord Jesus, You are mercy incarnate. Help us to use the gift of time to change our selfish and sinful ways, so that we can live as a people in whom You are pleased. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
