“Love hurts, love scars, love wounds and marks” (Nazareth). In the name of love, a mother painfully delivers her child. For the sake of love, the lover risks all to be with the beloved. By the power of love, Jesus suffered and died on the cross so that we may be saved. Believers enraptured with love come to understand that every heart given to God must be prepared to carry the cross. The joy of the journey is filled with rejection (Mt. 10:16-23). But take courage, for the ‘thorns’ of opposition give way to the ‘rose’ of eternal life. Lord Jesus, You revealed true love for us when You became our spotless Lamb of sacrifice. May our love for You and neighbour be a sweet aroma that brings joy to You. Amen.
