We are made in the image of God so that we can reflect Him in every area of our daily lives. When Jesus was tested, He asked for a coin and received one with the image of Caesar. He said that we are to “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God” (Mk. 12:16-17). Since everything belongs to God, this statement is not meant to be a dichotomy but a synchronicity. In every type of relationship, we are empowered to glorify God. Our inter-personal lives, our business practices, our political persuasions, our religious and ideological convictions, our treatment of the environment, should all be coloured by the virtues of honesty, compassion, dialogue, sincerity and a desire for the positive growth of all people and structures. By allowing God’s image to shine in all that we do, we become bearers of life and peace. Loving Father, You created us in Your image so that we can be the face of life in all the daily circumstances of our lives. May we who follow the light and love of Your Son Jesus, allow Your Spirit to guide us so that our activities will lead to Your glory. Amen.
