Easter Bytes

Today is the eve of Pentecost. Many of us would have observed a novena (nine days of prayer) to the Holy Spirit, asking for a renewal and fresh anointing of His gifts and fruits in our lives. We all need the Spirit to empower us to not only walk in the ways of the Lord, but also to see each moment as an opportunity to give witness to His love. There is no moment or situation in life that exempts us from claiming His power and shining His light. Life’s experiences can threaten our faith and evoke discouragement. The death of a loved one, the loss of a job, the divorce of a married couple, the effects of COVID-19 in our world, are some of the changes and pains that can cause us to forget that we are His temples. If we habitually trust in the Spirit’s presence, like Paul who was in prison (Acts 28:18), we will see every moment in our lives as a call to witness to God. Today, shine for the Lord. Come Holy Spirit, and fill us with the fire of Your love. Anoint our eyes and minds so that we may understand that every unique and personal moment in our lives is a gift from You, and is an opportunity to practice patience, kindness, goodness and love. Amen.
