Today's Byte

Each day is a new gift from our God. He chooses to perform miracles in our lives so that we may praise Him and know His love. The love of Christ which conquers all things that prevents us from living in the joy and peace that comes from following Him, imparts the healing that is necessary. What Christ did for the woman in today’s gospel (Lk. 13:10-17), He continues to do for each of us. Our miraculous healing is a two-sided coin, comprising God’s power and our response. His healing is a tangible sign of His faithful, saving presence in our lives. God is always ready to heal, forgive and restore our lives because that is the nature of love. But when we are healed, do we now walk and live as a people who have been touched by God? It is possible to be healed but still behave as if we are ill, or even complain like the crowd when God heals. Since He always forgives and miraculously heals, then ours is the task to embrace this gift, give praise to Him, get up and walk humbly with our God. Lord Jesus, may Your healing touch free me from my ills. May Your love restore me, so that my life may be a visible sign of the joy, peace and victory I have in Your name. Let Your grace empower me to walk always closely with you, and reveal Your salvation to others. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
