Lenten Bytes

We have a God who is never distant, but always close to us. Jesus left heaven to meet us on earth. He journeyed out of the wilderness to meet the people in their various contexts. In the gospel, Jesus meets the demoniac (Lk. 11:14-23) in the place he was staying. We can glean an important truth: God comes and meets us where we are.

This beautiful message should give us a sense of comfort. Through His Spirit, our Lord is constantly with us. He never leaves us alone. He comes and meets each of us in the physical and spiritual state we live. He comes to heal us, bless us and pour His saving love on us. Today, surrender all to Him and You will experience His power.

Lord Jesus, touch my eyes to see Your faithful presence at this moment in my life. You know my thoughts, fears and struggles. You know my heart. May Your liberating power draw me closer to you, now and forever. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
