Today's Byte

Do we pray for the gift of discernment? Each day, we encounter people and have experiences. But are these moments helping or hindering our growth in God’s grace and word? If we understand that our lives should be dedicated to the glory of our God, then it is our task to embrace the light and reject the darkness.

As Jesus ministered to the people, He had to be aware of that which advanced or threatened the kingdom of God. Today, He recognised the need to cast out the forces of evil (Mk. 1:25). We, like Jesus, cannot befriend nor journey with the voices and people who habitually divide, destroy and do not live by the word of God.

Lord Jesus, may Your voice calm me, Your grace heal me, and Your Spirit help me to discern how to live in this passing world. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
