Our words and actions not only have an impact on others, but they also reveal the kingdom to which we are aligned. In today’s gospel, Jesus told His accusers that the works He performs verify the truth that the Father is in Him, and He is in the Father (Jn. 10:38). This makes Jesus the one who ushers in, and advances, the kingdom of God. Believers in Christ are constantly being evaluated by others who look to us to see if our faith in God contributes to peace and joy in the world. We are all walking advertisements for either the kingdom of God or the devil. As the life of Jesus showed a real union with His Father, so may our lives confirm a loving bond with our Lord. Father, may Your Spirit so fill me with grace and power, that I may have the courage to reveal the beauty of Your kingdom and Son, Jesus, who is Lord forever and ever. Amen.
