God's healing is manifested within and outside structures. In today's gospel, we hear the belief that the sick placed into the pool opens the door to healing (Jn. 5:6-7). In the Church, the presence of the Sacraments, Holy Sites, Rites and Prayers are structures that impart the grace of God. However, we also see that Jesus was not limited to the structure of the pool. He commanded the sick man to take up his mat and walk (Jn. 5:8-9). The man was made well. God cannot be confined. Consequently, His grace, love and healing power are limitless. Let us be open to the many ways God effects His healing in our lives. Lord Jesus, help me to listen to your healing word, so that I may be restored in Your sight. Amen.
