The Angel Gabriel greeted Mary with the words, “Full of grace” (Lk. 1:28). Grace is a real and supernatural gift from God. It empowers us to listen to our God, rise above our egos and deception, and seek to please God with our words and lives.

Although the concept of grace is understood, it needed a ‘face’. Mary is the fulness and face of grace. She would give birth to Jesus (Lk. 1:26-38), the One who is the face of love, peace and all that is good. What aspect of grace does our face reveal?

Lord Jesus, Yours is the face of all that is good and true. May we who follow You, like Mary and all Disciples, choose to be the face of kindness, peace, love and joy in this world. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
