When God disturbs our lives, it is because He has something better in store. Joseph’s life and plans were suddenly interrupted by God (Mt. 1:16, 18-21, 24). Although Joseph struggled with the moment, by allowing God to have His way, the highest honour of being the foster father of Jesus was the fruit that emerged from his surrender and obedience to the Lord.

When the plans and dreams of our lives are challenged and changed, pray for the grace to humbly trust in the love and power of our God to make our lives new and beautiful. Lord Jesus, may Your grace empower us to imitate You, Mary and Joseph to surrender to our Father’s will, whose love leads us to true joy, greater peace and the assurance of better things to come. Amen.
