Our Lord tells us that the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven are those who obey and teach the commandments of God (Mt. 5:19). Is it any wonder that those who strive to teach and obey the word of the Lord are frowned on by others?
The darkness in people does not like the light that comes from conforming to the Lord’s word. As the crowd crucified the living Word - Jesus - for calling them to obedience, so too people today will ridicule and reject true believers.
The reward for those who teach and obey God’s word is eternal life with Him.
Lord Jesus, you are the Word made flesh who taught us to obey the commandments of our heavenly Father. Help us to listen, obey and teach others Your word of life. Amen.
