Every relationship starts with a ‘yes’. It may not be verbally stated, but the mutual attraction and time spent together reveal the value of the bond. In our relationship with God, our ‘yes’ is but the first step. In order for this relationship to strengthen and blossom, we need to be attentive and seek understanding to His word; be rooted in prayer and reflection; and be detached from anxiety and worldly vice (Mt. 13:18-23). This is how we bear good fruit.
Lord Jesus, Your word shapes us, Your Spirit empowers us and Your love gives us courage. Help us to do all that we can to strengthen our bond, and bear fruit for Your glory. Amen.
