Life is a gift that is meant to be celebrated. Our Lord gives us the people and things that we need in order to party and have fun. But we all know that life is short and experiences do not last. This is why life is also meant to be lived in a manner that pleases the Lord who grants eternal life. People will die and material things will decay (Mt. 6:19-23).
Therefore, let our moments of current celebration prepare us for eternity with our God who lives forever, and who is preparing an eternal feast for all His people in heaven.
Loving Father, teach us how to set our hearts on spiritual things and right living, so that even as we enjoy our present reality, we may joyfully anticipate that which is to come. Amen.
