The quality of our relationship with our God is not limited to our peace and joy when times are good, but is more concrete when we face crises. The death of a loved one; news of murder and war; economic and environmental crises, are all realities of life.

Jesus tells us that anxieties and tribulations are inescapable (Lk. 21:34-36). However, He also advises us to pray for strength. In addition to utilizing medical assistance, our authentic prayer lives will keep us ‘buoyant through the crashing waves of disturbance’.

Lord Jesus, we look to You as the source of our help and strength. May the comfort that we feel from being in Your presence through prayer, give us courage to walk on. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
