Jesus was a good Jew. He fulfilled His “duty of love” by going to the synagogue, teaching and healing (Lk. 4:31-37)). Christians, followers of Jesus, all have Jewish roots. But the revelation of who Jesus is has produced a seismic shift in the trajectory of our worship.

Rather than a synagogue, Christians now need to ponder if we are just as faithful in our worship of the Lord (Church or home), teaching and passing on the faith, and choosing to be peacemakers who aim for healing. We are to honour the Lord with our lips and lives.

Lord Jesus, be glorified at all times in our daily lives. Touch our ears to listen to You, so that with our lips we will praise You, and with our lives we will celebrate Your goodness. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
