For this New Year, are we prepared to follow the Lord even more intensely in our love for Him and care for His people? It is because He first loved us why we can love Him in return (1 Jn. 4:19). As the Lord gave His life for us, so now we are invited to live for Him.
We reveal our love for the Lord by bringing “glad tidings to the poor” and “liberty to the captives” (Lk. 4:18-19) in doubt, fear and pride. We are to help others recover their sight of virtue over the blindness of vice. True freedom is to live with joy in the Lord.
Lord Jesus, Your entire life was poured out for our benefit and eternal salvation. May we always show our gratitude by living as incarnate words of your presence in this world. Amen.
