Season’s greetings beloved. We just celebrated the liturgical feast of Christmas — the fact that Jesus became man. Now, on this feast of St. John, we are celebrating the truth that He has risen from the dead (Jn. 20:1-8).
What is the message of placing the birth and resurrection of Jesus so close together? He who created all life, who took ‘flesh’ and was born into this life, now lives forever in eternal life. If we want the same, all we have to do is follow Him.
Lord Jesus, You are the Source of life and the Door to everlasting life. As we celebrate Your birth, may the promise of our new birth in the resurrection inspire us to follow You. Amen.
