We all have a personal and family history. From the moment of birth to the moment of death, the journey of life tells our story from the beginning to the end. Our stories will have various experiences of joy and sorrow; victory and failure; peace and war.

We will soon celebrate our Lord becoming man, which we call Christmas. The ancestral lineage of Jesus (Mt. 1:1-17) reveals characters who were loved by God, but who struggled with their weaknesses. Today, pray for healing for our ancestors and ourselves.

Lord Jesus, Your Incarnation meant that You not only belonged to the human race, but also that Your birth came through the ancestral lineage of Your human family. Through the real presence and power of the Holy Spirit which brought about Your conception, we ask that You heal our ancestors, forgive all our failings, and save us by Your merciful love. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
