Christmas Bytes

“He saw and believed” (John 20:8). When John the Apostle saw the empty tomb and burial cloths, his faith in Christ was affirmed. Three days into the Christmas Season, and we quickly move from the birth of Jesus to His resurrection. He who had ‘no place’ in which to be born, now chooses ‘no place’ on earth in which to live eternally.

The implications of the above are as follows:

1. The earthly celebration of Christmas is but a preparation for the heavenly feast of Easter.

2. ‘Room’ should always be made in our lives for Jesus, so that when others see Him in us, they too may ‘see and believe’.

3. We who follow and worship Jesus the Light of the world, are called to be lights shining brightly for His kingdom.

Loving Father, may we who glorify the gift of Your Son Jesus in our lives, be glorified by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
